Privacy Policy

Furloom is a local-only app. Everything you add — pet profiles, photos, captions, milestone dates, reminders, care contacts, food and supply items, widget settings, and local backup files — stays on your device. There is no Furloom server, no account to create, and nothing that phones home.

What we store

Furloom stores the following data entirely on your device in the app’s private local storage:

• Pet profiles (name, species, photos, and optional milestone dates such as birthdays and gotcha days)
• Photos you import into Furloom and any captions you add
• Care contacts (vet, emergency clinic, groomer, trainer, sitter, walker)
• Food, treat, and supplement tracking items and reminder dates
• Widget preferences and themes
• Local reminder schedules (scheduled on-device, never sent to a server)
• Local backup files you create for moving to a new device

This data is kept in a local SQLite database within the app’s private documents directory. It is not accessible to other apps and never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to export it (see “Exports and backups” below).

What we do not collect

Furloom does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers. Specifically:

• No accounts or sign-up required — ever
• No analytics or usage tracking
• No advertising identifiers
• No crash reporting services that transmit data externally
• No third-party SDKs for tracking or advertising
• No cloud sync or backup

We designed the app this way on purpose. There is no server to trust, because there is no server.

Photos

When you import a photo, Furloom copies it into the app’s private documents directory. The original in your device’s photo library is not modified, not uploaded, and not accessed again after the initial import. Imported photos never leave the app unless you explicitly export them.

Widgets

The home-screen widget reads photo and profile data written by the app to a local shared app-group container on your device. This is a standard iOS mechanism for sharing data between an app and its widget extension. The data does not leave the device.

Exports and backups

Furloom can generate the following at your request:

• A portable Furloom backup file for restoring on a new device

These files are shared through your device’s system share sheet (AirDrop, Files, Messages, etc.). You decide where they go and who sees them. Furloom does not receive copies of these exports.

For transparency: exported backup files are not password-protected or encrypted in this version. They contain your pet profiles and photos in plain form, so keep them somewhere you trust (and delete copies you no longer need).

Reminders and notifications

Reminders (birthdays, gotcha days, food restocks, and other dates you set) are scheduled locally on your device using iOS local notifications. No reminder data is sent to any server.

Data deletion

Deleting a photo or pet profile inside Furloom removes it from local storage immediately. Uninstalling the app removes all app data from your device. There is no remote copy to delete — it was never there.

Children

Furloom does not knowingly collect any information from children or any other person, because it does not collect information at all.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top and note what changed. Because we collect no data, changes are likely to be minor clarifications rather than material privacy shifts.
